Anne Frank Huis
In this house on Prinsengracht, you take a look at the Frank family, and especially their famous daughter Anne. You step into the shoes of the people in hiding, see the famous bookcase that closed them off from the outside world for years and experience how small the space is that they lived in all those years. On the walls are various texts from Anne's diary, which are also read aloud by a speaker. Here, you walk through Anne's life as it were, experiencing the suffocating atmosphere and environment in which the people in hiding lived every day.
During a visit to the Anne Frank Huis, you will learn a lot about the Second World War, anti-Semitism, how Anne and her family lived and much more. It is a small museum, so you need to buy tickets in advance with a time slot to enter. Keep this in mind, otherwise you'll be queuing for a long time and for nothing on the Prinsengracht.
